For those who do not know what is VOIP, VOIP is Voice Over Protocol. This is technology where voice is digitized and carried over from one VOIP system to another via the same lines that carry data. The manner in which you make calls remains the same and what changes is the network via which the call travels.

There are also some free VOIP service options that can be used by offices and individuals. These options use software that can be downloaded for free. A large number of individuals are now using this technology to make personal international calls.
